Summer Reporting Fellow (Jun – Aug 2024)
Report in-depth on a variety of local news, including local government, arts and community, and environmental issues. Personal photography supplemented original reporting. Attend editorial meetings twice a week to pitch stories, brainstorm approaches and sources, and explore leads with colleagues. Assist in reporting of breaking news through monitoring of police scanners, social media, and announcements from local institutions.
KGNU Community Radio
Digital Engagement Intern (Jun – Aug 2023)
Created daily content regarding the station’s broadcasted news and featured stories for Instagram. Process involved breaking down story content for captions, photography of subjects and communication for assets as needed. Additionally: wrote and recorded news stories for daily morning headlines, edited and proofread morning news stories for digital publishing, and produced feature stories for the morning radio program as needed.
